Viral scene involving Arber Xhekaj: he has just made a move that is causing a stir as he flatly refused a fight
It didn't take long, but we already have a noteworthy sequence as Arber Xhekaj is currently playing his very first career game in the AHL, against the Ottawa Senators' farm team.
"Bokondji Imama invites Arber Xhekaj to fight at the faceoff. Xhekaj declines. Play continues. Riley McKay grabs Angus Crookshank. Scuffle ensues involving Imama, McKay, and several players. Some roughness, but indiscipline on McKay's part."
- Via Anthony Marcotte We knew the Sens were going to try Xhekaj, we know they don't like him at all and they want to shake him up, so it didn't take long.
Kudos to Xhekaj for refusing! He's not there for that and it would be completely pointless to risk another injury.
I think this was the first time I saw Xhekaj refuse a fight. He did very well on this one! It speaks volumes (positively) about his mindset and his game plan.
