Kevin Bieksa reveals publicly who the worst journalists in the NHL are
Analyst Kevin Bieksa, a name you know well, has just made a statement that is causing a lot of buzz.
He revealed who he believes are the worst journalists in the NHL, based on his experience as a former defenseman in the NHL.
We often talk about the media here with the Montreal Canadiens, and the countless press conferences that Martin St-Louis and his players must give every day, behind the famous blue background with the CH logos, but it's always done with respect.
We have to give them that.
The journalists covering the Canadiens do an excellent job and are extremely respectful, as Martin St-Louis pointed out at the end of his season review.
However, this does not seem to be the case everywhere.
The Edmonton Oilers journalists are the worst in the NHL, according to Kevin Bieksa.
The analyst made this statement amid the "Darnell Nurse saga" and his 37-second press conference, as the Oilers defenseman has really fallen into the crosshairs of the Edmonton press (mainly due to his hefty contract).
Kevin Bieksa opens up about the journalists covering the Oilers
He specifically mentioned this:
"Darnell Nurse, you think about his day, his morning. He arrives at the rink and he has to face the meat of Edmonton, that's what I call the media there because they're raw and dumb." - Kevin Bieksa
A viral outburst that indeed made an Edmonton journalist react.
"Mark Messier, seven Stanley Cup Finals and six rings, says Nurse needs to look at himself and play through it.
Kevin Bieksa, won seven playoff series, takes shot at media about +/- when Nurse wasn't even asked about it.
A champion's approach and outlook are much different».
It certainly isn't the end of the buzz.
