As you know, and as we reported last night, hockey is currently of secondary importance in the Montreal Canadiens' locker room.

The well-being of the "coach's" family is what's important.

After the game in Calgary, all the Habs players wanted to show their support for their head coach, Martin St-Louis, who currently has to be absent from the team's environment for personal and family reasons.

He's the leader of our group. It's an emotional moment for all of us, coaches and players. We want to come together over this, but we weren't able to do so tonight. -Trevor Letowski stated.

For his part, Mike Matheson wanted to focus on hockey in front of the journalists, to divert attention like a good leader.

Throughout the game, we controlled the puck very well in the offensive zone. But there were just too many moments when we lost the way we want to play defensively. We gave up too many chances.

Also Caufield and Suzuki made a heartfelt statement regarding St-Louis' absence with the team:

In the first game without Martin St-Louis, the CH was defeated by the Calgary Flames with a score of 5 to 2.

The team will continue its trip in the West throughout the week, notably Tuesday night in Edmonton, to face Connor McDavid and his crew.
