There's been a lot of movement in this department this week.
Just minutes ago, the reputable Elliotte Friedman reported that Chad Ruhwedel, who was placed on waivers yesterday, went unclaimed.
He also added that young Pavel Novak has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Minnesota Wild, as they aim to terminate his contract.
Finally, two other players were placed on regular waivers, and they are two more interesting names.
Here is Friedman's confirmation.
Yamamoto, 26, is a 5-foot-9, 178-pound forward who was drafted 22nd overall (first round) by the Edmonton Oilers in 2017.
He has 134 points in 306 NHL career games, including 16 points in 59 games last season.
In his rookie year, he recorded 26 points in 27 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers.
Tufte, also 26, is a massive 6-foot-6, 230-pound forward who was drafted 25th overall (first round) by the Dallas Stars in 2016.
He has 3 points in 20 NHL career games, but recently recorded 45 points in 67 games in the American Hockey League.
They will have a decision tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
More details will follow.
It's worth noting that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens currently have a top-5 priority for claiming players on waivers.
