With Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens still holding a top-5 priority to claim players, an intriguing forward has just been made available for free.
Check out what journalist Chris Johnston reported:
Sheary, 32 years old, is a 5-foot-8, 182-pound forward. He had his best career moments with the Pittsburgh Penguins, playing on their top line alongside Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel. He won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pens in 2017 and 2018, accumulating 17 points in the playoffs over that span.
In his NHL career, Sheary has accumulated 267 points, including 124 goals.
He recently posted 37 and 43 points with the Washington Capitals, but his best season was 53 points in 61 games.
Do you think Sheary will be claimed?
Let's remember, of course, that until November 1st, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens are among the five teams with the highest priority to claim players.
For now, the Habs' management has yet to use this advantage, even though names like Jakob Pelletier, Raphaël Lavoie, Julien Gauthier, and others were placed on waivers earlier this month.
I still believe Pelletier could have been a very interesting addition to Martin St-Louis' lineup.
