An absolutely horrible and disgusting scene occurred during the recent game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings.
It was Evander Kane who shared this appalling story. A Kings fan spat on a young girl.
"This young fan had an extraordinary trip to Los Angeles and created some memorable moments for herself. However, some experiences were less enjoyable for her in Los Angeles, specifically during Game #3 of our series. I am disgusted and touched by what happened to this extraordinary young girl.
In the stands and in the women's washroom, during the game in Los Angeles, she was harassed because she was wearing an Edmonton Oilers jersey. Furthermore, because she was wearing my jersey, a Kings fan spat on her.
This type of behavior is disgusting and completely unacceptable towards any young girl, especially towards someone who is fighting cancer. Treating her this way is completely pathetic.
Grow up, and as this brilliant young woman says so well, BE KIND!" said Evander Kane.
The young lady in question here is 10-year-old Cecily Eklund, and she is unfortunately battling cancer. She was living a dream by going to Los Angeles and watching her Oilers play.
The result? She was harassed numerous times, and a Kings fan spat on her. We are speechless and completely shocked by this story. How can someone lack so much class and respect?
Oh, and let's add that Cecily is currently working to raise $30,000 for a foundation that helps sick children. She is truly amazing
It's truly sad and revolting what Kane reveals here.
Even worse, a fan responded to Kane's post to add insult to injury:
Incredible.
