One of the names we're closely watching is Jakob Pelletier, but he was not placed on waivers by the Calgary Flames today.
This will be something to follow in the coming days.
Otherwise, there were indeed eight players placed on waivers today, but the Dallas Stars just added six more by submitting their latest list.
In total, that makes 14 players who are free as the wind.
Check out the full and official list.
I don't think anything will happen today unless Kent Hughes really likes Stanley Cup champion Josh Mahura or veteran Chris Wagner, but let's remember that the Montreal Canadiens are still among the top 5 teams with the highest priority to claim players off waivers.
Will Kent Hughes use this advantage?
According to what he mentioned in a press conference, it's definitely possible, but no player has swayed him so far.
Joshua Mahura, 26 years old, is a defenseman drafted in the third round by the Anaheim Ducks in 2016. He has 45 points in 191 career NHL games and played with the Florida Panthers last season.
He's probably the most interesting name on waivers this Saturday.
