This is a very fertile time of year for this, especially after the World Junior Hockey Championship, but an excellent Montreal Canadiens prospect is about to be traded in the OHL by the Peterborough Petes.
Beck traded upon return from the World Junior Championship?
Owen Beck, the 33rd overall pick of the CH in 2022, is indeed currently part of the Canadian team at the World Junior Championship.
He is a complete prospect, who is likely to be a solid third-line center for Montreal for a long time. (at a minimum)
At 19 years old, Beck will be a highly sought-after player on the OHL trade market, and the Petes are looking to trade him for a high price. (for young players and high draft picks)
According to Jeff Marek of Sportsnet, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds are in pole position to acquire him and an announcement is expected in this case.

Beck has 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points in 25 games this season in the OHL. This is likely to be his last campaign in the junior ranks.
