The draft is getting closer, and so is the opening of the free-agent market. Things will move quickly.
Let's first recall that Kent Hughes publicly stated earlier this season that he was looking for a third first-round pick in the 2023 draft, but he failed to do so before the trade deadline.
In recent hours, a rumor has begun circulating that this would still be the intention of the Canadiens' general manager, and that there have been significant discussions about it in the Montreal offices.
Dreger confirmed this rumor and elaborated on the subject.
On the airwaves of TSN 690, the TSN insider mentioned that the CH will continue to work hard to acquire a third 1st round pick for 2023.
So, this is still the plan, and we love it!
Kent Hughes will be active on the phone trying to finalize a trade in that direction.
Will Josh Anderson be used to get this coveted pick? To be continued, but it seems to be a possibility.
One thing is certain, this summer will be crucial for the club's future.
