There's a lot of smoke, let's say.
Many very reputable insiders, like Frank Seravalli, Elliotte Friedman, and David Pagnotta, have already talked about the possibility of a trade being announced between MTL and EDM involving a goaltender.
This morning, Darren Dreger added a very thick layer to it and went even further, on TSN radio.
When these insiders step forward, we must listen. They speak directly to the GMs and agents of the targeted players. They know what they're talking about.
This is exactly what Dreger brought up this morning.
He first mentioned that, if Samuel Montembeault is traded by the CH, the price will be very high.
Dreger named Xavier Bourgault, the Oilers' first-round pick in 2021. He would be at the base of the trade.
Dreger goes even further.
He reveals that Kent Hughes (MTL) and Ken Holland (EDM) could well be working on a much bigger trade. It's not confirmed yet, but that's the rumor.
So who would be (also) involved in this major trade, in addition to Montembeault and Bourgault?
David Savard could be a possibility, but Jack Campbell too, curiously (because of his contract, obviously).
It must be said that he could be very solid for the Laval Rocket, and he would bring back a first-round pick, nothing less! (always according to Dreger)
So here is the trade that Darren Dreger seems to be constructing by revealing his information.
Would you do it? And if the Oilers want to add David Savard as well, then the return will be even bigger.
