The Flyers have reportedly just submitted a major trade offer to the Canadiens, and this could be announced shortly
There continues to be activity behind the scenes in the National Hockey League!
In the last few hours, the renowned Frank Seravalli reported that the Philadelphia Flyers are so eager to draft the phenomenon Matvei Michkov, they are interested in moving up in the draft.
think what they're trying to do is offer their #7 and #22 overall picks, and possibly something else, to try to move up to the fourth or fifth overall spot. - Seravalli
If the Canadiens decide they don't want to draft Michkov, this is precisely the kind of trade they could announce on Wednesday.
If the Habs don't want to draft Michkov at the 5th spot, trading it for #7 and #22 makes a lot of sense. They could then take Leonard or Benson AND add another quality prospect at the 22nd spot. Or combine 22+31/37 to move up around the 15th spot if they have a target!- Marc-Olivier Beaudoin
Interesting!
Be aware, then, that this is evidently a trade that Kent Hughes has up his sleeve if he decides he doesn't want Michkov.
Under the circumstances, it would be interesting to draft at spots #7, #22, and #31 in this very competitive first round. Hughes would add a strong additional choice while securing the services of a Ryan Leonard or a David Reinbacher.
To be continued!
