A trade between the Canadiens and the Maple Leafs involving a first-round pick? The Leafs officially confirm David Savard's value according to them
It has been very clear for the past few hours that there's a stir in the NHL trade market, and it seems to be only a matter of hours before Kent Hughes gets involved.
On this topic, we have some news!
The Toronto Maple Leafs believe David Savard is worth a first-round pick in the trade market!
This is excellent news for Kent Hughes.
According to TSN 1050 host, Bryan Hayes, the Leafs are truly interested in veteran Savard and would be absolutely ready to trade a first-round pick as of today to acquire him and get him out of Montreal.
If it's not yet done and announced, we can therefore believe that Kent Hughes is asking for more than that (rightly so)!
Hayes estimates that Savard, with his right shot, an interesting contract, a Stanley Cup ring, and a physical presence, is worth a first-round pick, and he believes the Leafs think the same.
"Bryan Hayes on Sportscentre says that David Savard is worth a first-round pick for the Leafs, shoots right, has a contract after this summer, has a Stanley Cup ring, and brings a physical aspect to his game. He says he's not sure Liljegren can play in the playoffs, but he knows Savard can."

It's getting busy, anyway! We love it!
Would you trade Savard, to the Toronto Maple Leafs, for 1st and 3rd round picks?
More to follow by tomorrow PM!
