Here's an easy and interesting acquisition that could enable the Habs to kick things off.
It went under the radar yesterday amid the myriad of transactions, but there are some very interesting names currently available for free, until 2 p.m. today, on waivers.
And we're not talking about Ryan Johansen here, but rather Jaret Anderson-Dolan.
The Kings have reluctantly placed him on waivers and they don't want to lose him, but due to the trade deadline and the salary cap, they had no choice.
Prospect fans are very familiar with Anderson-Dolan. He is a very complete center, 24 years old, and drafted with the 41st overall pick (2nd round) in 2017.
He has accumulated 49 points in his last 57 games in the AHL and at a time when the Kings had too many good forward prospects, he is among the few who have stood out.
He has 28 points in the NHL, including 15 goals, but many believe that his offensive potential is higher (yes, it's hard to produce on a 4th line).
He reminds us a lot of Jake Evans, but possibly with a higher offensive ceiling. JAD accumulated 134 points in 102 games in his last two junior seasons, including a season of 91 points and 40 goals!
He earns the NHL's minimum salary ($775,000) and the CH currently needs a center.
Would you like the CH to give Anderson-Dolan a chance to finish the season?
