We have an interesting trade proposal to report, one between the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames involving Jonathan Huberdeau.

This was suggested by Jean-Charles Lajoie.

In an article shared on TVA Sports and the Journal de Montréal, the host has indeed proposed an intriguing trade.

Jonathan Huberdeau with the Montreal Canadiens instead of Brendan Gallagher?

Here's an excerpt from his argument.

«Why not take advantage of the situation to try and get Jonathan Huberdeau? I know, I know, Jo makes $10.5 million this season, and he'll keep making that for the next seven seasons until he's 38.»

Jean-Charles Lajoie

He mentions that he would consider such a trade, especially if Calgary agrees to retain part of Jonathan Huberdeau's salary and if they agree to take on Brendan Gallagher's contract in return.

«Before outright rejecting both options, look me in the eye and try to convince me that a healthy Canadiens top six, including Laine, couldn't also feature Zegras or Huberdeau.»

Jean-Charles Lajoie

And you, do you like the idea? What prospects or draft picks would you add to such a trade?

Jonathan Huberdeau, 31 years old, originally from Saint-Jerome and is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward.

He was the 3rd overall pick by the Florida Panthers in 2011 (first round) and has accumulated 727 points in 841 career games in the NHL, including 229 goals.

This season, he has seven points in 10 games with Calgary, following a strong offseason after scoring 52 points last season.

Notably, he recorded 115 points in 80 games during his last season with the Florida Panthers in 2021-2022.
