BREAKING: Joel Edmundson has been traded to the Canadiens' archrival
In breaking news, the former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson has been traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In return, the Capitals obtain two draft picks.
"NEWS | The Washington Capitals have acquired a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft (originally from NY Islanders) and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft (originally from Chicago) from the Toronto Maple Leafs for defenseman Joel Edmundson."
Seeing him in a Leafs jersey will indeed be an odd sight, particularly considering his pivotal role in the 2021 Stanley Cup run, which memorably included a stunning comeback against the Leafs in the first round.
Details will follow.
