We still have plenty of action on the NHL waiver wire this Friday.

First of all, the 'Raphaël Lavoie saga' continues, as he has once again been claimed off waivers, this time by the Vegas Golden Knights.

Raphaël Lavoie's wild week on the waiver wire continues:

October 6: Edmonton places him on waivers

October 7: Claimed by Vegas on waivers

October 8: Placed on waivers by Vegas

October 9: Claimed on waivers by Edmonton

October 10: Edmonton places him on waivers

October 11: Claimed by Vegas on waivers

- Chris Johnston, TSN

As a result, Lavoie will play in the AHL, but for Vegas's affiliate team (for now at least).

No other team attempted to claim Raphaël Lavoie off waivers today. This means the Golden Knights have won their bet and will be able to send him to Henderson in the AHL.

- Renaud Lavoie

It finally seems like this case is settled! Let's just say that some loopholes in the NHL rules were uncovered here.

Some other waivers announcements

Additionally, regarding the NHL waiver wire, note that goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen has been claimed by the Colorado Avalanche.

So, we have two names changing teams today, but that's not all. Also note that Spencer Smallman went unclaimed on waivers, while Boston Bruins defenseman Ian Mitchell has now been placed on waivers.

He's available for free for the next 24 hours.

There's definitely still a lot of movement in the NHL, as teams continue to move pieces around and finalize their rosters at the start of the season.

Mitchell, 25, is a right-shot defenseman with 18 points in 95 career NHL games.
