On TVA Sports, journalist Renaud Lavoie mentioned that defenseman Logan Mailloux is one call-up away from never returning to the AHL.

Mailloux, who was clearly disappointed after being cut and who envisioned starting the season in Montreal, may well be in his final weeks with the Laval Rocket.

«It's part of the plan [Mailloux's reassignment],» explained the hockey expert. «He knew there was a good chance he'd start the season with the Laval Rocket. I feel like we'll see him again sooner rather than later.»

At 21 years old, Mailloux is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed defenseman. He was the Canadiens' 31st overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft (first round) and recorded 47 points in 72 games last season with the Laval Rocket.

He also added one point in one game with the Montreal Canadiens. The young player is very talented, and his career is just beginning
