Journalist predicts a likely transaction by Hughes at the 2024 draft
In the context of his recent podcast, Arpon Basu talked about a trade that will almost certainly be announced by Kent Hughes during the 2024 draft.
Interesting.
The journalist from The Athletic seems to be absolutely convinced that the Canadiens will trade the Winnipeg Jets' 2024 1st round pick, which was acquired in the Sean Monahan transaction earlier this season.
Basu believes that this pick will be traded to bring immediate reinforcements for the next season. (like a Martin Necas, Trevor Zegras, Peyton Krebs and company)

He mentioned this.
"I would be extremely surprised if the Canadiens still have their first-round pick from the Winnipeg Jets by the end of the first round"
- Arpon Basu
Wow! This pick, which will probably be between the 24th and 27th overall position in the first round, would thus be well in sight on the NHL trade market and there are very real chances that it will be traded.
It could be paired with a defenseman like Jordan Harris, Justin Barron, or another, for example, but this will definitely be something to watch.
This promises to be exciting!
