If you want my opinion, I think there's absolutely no urgency to trade Matheson. However, if the right offer comes along, I think Kent Hughes should be open and interested in exploring a deal.
A team like the Carolina Hurricanes, who have several interesting assets to trade and who have shown interest in Matheson in the past, could be very intriguing.
Otherwise, could a trade involving Simon Nemec and Mike Matheson interest the New Jersey Devils? They are in "win-now" mode, so Matheson would clearly be more useful to them than Nemec at the moment.
Additionally, Kent Hughes and the Devils' GM have already made deals together a few times, notably in trades involving Jake Allen and Johnathan Kovacevic.
