We mentioned it to you earlier this week, but there is new information regarding this trade proposal discussed on BPM Sports.
What is really interesting to know is that this question, this famous trade proposal involving Caufield, was also submitted by Mathias Brunet to NHL executives.
Well, well.
And according to his responses, we understand that several NHL executives would agree to trade Cole Caufield for the 6th overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft. Wow!
We imagine that their reasoning is that with a sixth overall pick, they might have the opportunity to get a Matthew Tkachuk or another extremely complete player, while Cole Caufield has the reputation of being one-dimensional, but personally I maintain my opinion.
I would not trade a Caufield, who is already extremely good, for a draft pick that remains a "maybe."
Some seem to be starting to forget, but Cole Caufield is a special player, with special talent.
We absolutely have to keep him, and if Kent Hughes ever decided to trade him, it would have to be for something substantial. (more substantial than a 6th overall pick)
And you, what do you think?
Plusieurs gestionnaires de la LNH accepteraient d'échanger Caufield pour le 6e choix
Caufield, 23 years old, 5 feet 8 inches and 175 pounds, is a 15th overall pick by the Canadiens in 2019. He has accumulated 65 points in 82 games this season and 36 points in 46 games last season.
He has really progressed as a hockey player under the guidance of Martin St-Louis in recent years and is no longer the one-dimensional player that many believe he is.
