This is the reality of the summer season in hockey. There are acquisitions, but obviously, departures as well.
Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will therefore have to decide in the next few hours whether or not to offer a contract to these four young players in the organization.
It should be remembered that each club has a limit of 50 contracts, which forces teams to make choices like the ones Kent Hughes is currently facing.
It must not be easy to let go of a prospect you drafted and carefully selected during their eligibility year.
Note that the Canadiens currently have 39 contracts, not counting those of Arber Xhekaj and Justin Barron.

Miguel Tourigny, 22 years old, right defenseman, scored 38 points in 61 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Petteri Nurmi, 22 years old, left defenseman, scored 16 points in 60 games in the SM_Liiga, Finland's top professional league.
