The rank where David Reinbacher would be drafted in 2024 revealed
One year after David Reinbacher was selected by Kent Hughes with the 5th overall pick in the NHL draft, here is a nice surprise for the fans.
One of the popular beliefs is that the Montreal Canadiens should have drafted a forward in 2023 and a defenseman in 2024, given that this year we have an extremely high-quality batch of defensemen.
But not so fast.
The expert Simon Boisvert has just made a statement that is a very nice surprise for the fans regarding David Reinbacher.
Recently, while on BPM Sports, as reported by Marco Normandin, Simon Boisvert said this when questioned about the value of Reinbacher compared to the defensemen who will be drafted top-5 in 2024:
«In my opinion, Artyom Levshunov would definitely be picked before David Reinbacher if he had been eligible this year. The others, I don't know. It depends, it's a matter of taste.
For me, I would say that I would take Levshunov before Reinbacher, I would not take Anton Silayev before Reinbacher, I would not take Zayne Parekh before Reinbacher, Zeev Buium I would think twice, and Sam Dickinson I don't know.
So I would say that in my mind, only Levshunov is really better than Reinbacher.» We love it! This means that, compared to a 3rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, David Reinbacher looks very good.
According to the vast majority of experts, the third overall pick in the first round next June will indeed be Artyom Levshunov or Anton Silayev, who are two very good young defensemen.
It is really reassuring to see that, despite a somewhat more difficult campaign in Switzerland in an unfavorable context, Reinbacher is still seen as a young elite talent.
See the full excerpt.
Reinbacher, 19 years old, 6 feet 3 inches and 210 pounds, 5th overall pick by the CH in 2023 (first round), is a right-handed defenseman who has scored 5 points in 11 games this season in the American Hockey League with the Laval Rocket (positive differential of +6).
Reinbacher also scored 11 points in 35 games at Kloten in the Swiss-A League (negative differential of -15 with a terrible team).
