Trade between Montreal and Los Angeles? Last-minute development emerges
We have some updates regarding the proposed trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Los Angeles Kings involving Arthur Kaliyev.
As you know, Kent Hughes has openly mentioned and reiterated that he would really try to acquire a top-6 forward this summer (or a potential future top-6 forward).

This has just been published, and it's starting to become clear that multiple sources (south of the border) are linking Arthur Kaliyev to Montreal.
This will be a case to follow until October, but don't be surprised if Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton take their shot, especially if the asking price is low.
Kaliyev, a 33rd overall pick in 2019, is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound winger who was incredible in junior ranks (105 goals and 95 assists in his last two seasons with the Hamilton Bulldogs).
In the NHL, he has scored 35 goals and 36 assists (71 points) in 188 games with the Los Angeles Kings, but his potential seems much higher.

According to various journalists in Los Angeles, the Kings would like to trade Kaliyev for a prospect with lower potential but a higher floor (a future good third- or fourth-line player).
