In the last few minutes, the Dallas Stars announced a truly tragic news.
Former NHL player and former Stars organization member, Raymond Sawada, passed away in infinitely sad circumstances.
At only 38 years old, Sawada had just celebrated his young daughter's birthday on Monday before simply going to play a hockey game.
Unfortunately, he never came back home.
During his game, he collapsed on the ice and suddenly passed away. (He suffered a cardiac arrest)
Simply writing this story brings tears to our eyes. It was surely an extremely terrifying scene.
Our deepest thoughts go out to his loved ones and family, including his wife Nicole, and his two young daughters Victoria (9 years old) and Charlotte (6 years old).
« It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of former Stars player, Raymond Sawada.
Our love goes out to his family, friends, and all the people he influenced in hockey and as a firefighter in his community.
