Oilers Confirm the Player That Will Lose His Spot to Corey Perry
Earlier today, we reported that the Montreal Canadiens placed forward Mitchell Stephens on NHL waivers.
Justin Barron has indeed also been demoted, heading straight to Laval. (waiver exempt)
Another name on waivers with Stephens
There was indeed another name on waivers today.
A few minutes after finalizing the signing of Corey Perry, the Edmonton Oilers announced this.
So, Adam Erne is indeed currently available entirely for free, and many experts believe he will be claimed. (perhaps by the Toronto Maple Leafs?)
Erne thus suffers from Edmonton's acquisition of Perry.
To be continued!
Erne, 28 years old, is a 33rd overall pick by the Lightning in 2013. He has played 23 games this season with the Oilers and has accumulated 91 points (41 goals) in 378 career NHL games.
He is a strong, tough 4th line forward earning only $775,000 per season. ($2.1 million last season)
Do you also believe he will be claimed?
