According to former Montreal Canadiens scout Grant McCagg, Trevor Timmins would have saved his honor, if all goes well, with the four most recent drafts.
According to McCagg, in five years, the CH could be in the top-5 NHL teams that drafted the best in the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 drafts.
In 2018, Trevor Timmins still drafted Jesse Ylonen, Alexander Romanov and Jordan Harris. Yes, Jesperi Kotkaniemi was also selected that year.
In 2019, it was the year Cole Caufield, Jayden Struble (who is expected to sign with the Habs at the end of the 2023 season), Mattias Norlinder and Rafael Harvey-Pinard.
In 2020, we can name the names of Kaiden Guhle, Jan Mysak and Sean Farrell.
Finally, in 2021, Riley Kidney and Joshua Roy caught the attention of the Tricolore's management, so much so that they both earned NHL entry-level contracts. Also note the controversial selection of Logan Mailloux and a long shot with Xavier Simoneau.
