Earlier in the day, the Winnipeg Jets revealed numerous changes within their team. Surprisingly, we find Pierre-Luc Dubois in this list. This one wears the number 13 since his arrival with the Manitoba organization.
However, the Quebec forward has opted for number 80 for the 2021-2022 season. At first glance, it seems like a small change, but there is a very touching reason behind Dubois' decision.
He chose number 80 in honor of his former teammate Matiss Kivlenieks, who died a few weeks ago in a tragic accident. It's a nice tribute to the deceased goalkeeper from Latvia.
A man of heart, this Pierre-Luc, we like that!
Obviously, Kivlenieks will have marked many people during his time in Columbus. Let's remember that Elvis Merzlikins had also delivered a touching testimony in his honor some time after the death of the young man.
