With captain Shea Weber out for the 2021-2022 season and Paul Byron out until December, the Habs needed to name a new assistant captain for next season.
Jeff Petry and Brendan Gallagher will likely be two of the three assistant captains for the current season. We wondered who would be coming in this season with an "A" on his uniform. Josh Anderson? Joel Edmundson?
All indications are that it will be forward Tyler Toffoli. The Habs indirectly revealed it on their Twitter account. Mike Hoffman filmed himself in front of the Bell Complex in Brossard and by the same occasion, we can see Tyler Toffoli in the left background, where we can see an "A" on his jersey.
The Habs instantly deleted the post. However, some fans had time to take a screenshot of the post in question.
