Why is that?
Simply because he is a great player. NHL teams really want him and they know that Kent Hughes would love to trade his big contracts.
As a result, the CH is receiving several offers and calls for Anderson.
So far, Kent Hughes has not flinched, but for a very solid offer, he could possibly trade Anderson. Especially if he can get a great draft pick and/or a great young player.
As reported by our colleagues at Marker.com, the excellent Marco D'Amico mentioned that Elliotte Friedman believes Anderson will be a player to keep a close eye on in the trade market.
That doesn't mean he'll be traded, but his name will come up a lot on Kent Hughes' phone.
Notably, there is one team that would be particularly interested in the power forward, a team you know very well: the Edmonton Oilers (especially if they lose Evander Kane)
They have some good youngsters to offer, like Cole Caufield's former teammate Dylan Holloway. This could be an enticing base.
Another club seriously interested would be the New York Islanders, who could really trade Anthony Beauvillier this summer.
To be continued!
Anderson, 28, has 32 points and 19 goals in 69 games this season with the Montreal Canadiens. He has a contract worth $5.5 million per year, valid until the end of the 2026-27 season.
