Alex Ovechkin's Capitals are in Tampa Bay to face the Lightning tonight. In this matchup, "Ovi" could reach two more plateaus, as he has been on fire since the beginning of the campaign, despite being 36 years old.
Since the opening of the regular season, the Caps' captain has scored at least one point in each of his team's games. He currently has 15 points, including nine goals, in eight games. During this streak, the Reds have yet to lose a regular season game (5-0-3).
If he gets at least one point tonight, Ovechkin would become the first member of the organization to get at least one point in the first nine duels of the schedule. Quite remarkable.
On top of that, if he scores two goals, he'll join Brett Hull as the fourth leading scorer in the league with 741. If he gets a hat trick, he will surpass "Golden Brett"! It would be remarkable if he reached both plateaus tonight.
