At the beginning of his career, Alex Ovechkin was known to wear a tinted visor. The visor became very popular with fans and young players who loved the look it gave. The league finally banned this accessory in 2006.
During the All-Star Game weekend, Ovechkin revealed which Hall of Fame goalie demanded that the league ban the visor. It was none other than Martin Brodeur.
"Brodeur started crying to the league that he couldn't see my eyes. What the hell is he talking about?"
Ovechkin also shared that he would like to see these types of visors brought back.
It must be said, the change of visor simply did not bother Ovechkin. The latter has scored nearly 800 goals since that moment and he continues to produce at a hell of a pace.
