The Habs haven't had it easy since the start of the campaign. From the start of training camp, the bad news has been piling up as some big pieces have been absent.

Among them, of course, is goaltender Carey Price. Number 31 entered the player assistance program for substance abuse problems. Since then, Carey has returned to the team's entourage and even skated earlier this week.

With his team struggling with a paltry 14 points in 24 games, Price could return to action in the coming weeks.

Many fans would like to believe that the goaltender will be the saviour in his return to action. ESPN reporter Greg Wyshynski calmed things down during his NHL roundup.

"Carey Price is on his way back, but even their star goalie won't be able to get them back. Especially since Carey Price would come back to play in the regular season, rather than the playoffs," the reporter said.

Having had an incredible playoff run last June, there is no doubt that Price is an important piece of the CH. However, it's important to remember that the Tricolore's current problem is their defensive system.

Despite Price's immense talent, he can't perform miracles night after night. The Habs are giving away far too many shots and scoring chances to their opponents, which makes the goalie's job very difficult.

Price's presence between the pipes will certainly be more intimidating for other teams in the Bettman circuit, but that's not what will solve everything.

The players in front of him will have to regroup and find solutions because right now, it's not looking good!
