Although they have repeatedly said that Dominique Ducharme is sure to stay in his position until the end of the campaign, Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes will likely want to choose their own head coach, especially given their team's setbacks.

With this in mind, Marc-Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu of The Athletic raised the idea that Lavallois, Pascal Vincent, would be a strong candidate to replace Dominique Ducharme at the end of the season.

At the age of 50, Vincent was an associate coach with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He previously worked for 10 seasons in the Winnipeg Jets organization, first as an assistant coach and then as head coach of the Manitoba Moose in the AHL.

Hiring Vincent would make a lot of sense, since with over 15 years of experience in the QMJHL, he knows how to work with young players, not to mention that he has «leadership» qualities. This seem all very valuable in the eyes of the new management of the CH.

In short, all this remains only speculation, since Dominique Ducharme is currently well on the saddle, at least until the end of the season.
