BREAKING: Arber Xhekaj sent to the Laval Rocket in the AHL
In the last few seconds, the Montreal Canadiens announced the following:
"The Canadiens have removed Arber Xhekaj's name from the injured list and have assigned the defenseman to the Laval Rocket.'
- Montreal Canadiens" Xhekaj will be with the Rocket for the time being, and for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, this postpones their tough decision regarding Jayden Struble.
This could lead to a trade, but with the return of David Savard and Arber Xhekaj, and with Struble, who absolutely does not deserve to go back to Laval, someone will have to be the odd man out!
Xhekaj doesn't need waivers to go down and the Canadiens need a roster spot for guys playing tonight. We'll see what happens. He will report to Rocket tomorrow, say the Canadiens. Perhaps he does what's akin to a conditioning stint with them until he returns. -Eric Engels
