In the last few seconds, the Toronto Maple Leafs have just put the name of forward (and most recent Stanley Cup champion) Nicolas Aubé-Kubel on waivers.
Kent Hughes may have the opportunity to acquire him for free. However, if he wants to add another forward, he will have to trade one or place one on waivers by tomorrow afternoon.
It seems very implausible, but let's face it, Nicolas Aubé-Kubel would probably fit in much better on the Montreal Canadiens' fourth line (compared to Mike Hoffman).
It would also be great for the Tricolore's payroll, but it would take a lot of magic from Kent Hughes to do it. He can do it, but more on that later!
In six games this season, Aubé-Kubel has not collected a single point.
The Quebecer signed a one-season, $1 million contract with the Leafs last summer.
