The Montreal Canadiens have asked Bob Gainey to be part of Jeff Gorton's committee that will choose the next general manager of the team. A homecoming for the former Habs GM.
Gainey had been inactive since 2014, since he was an advisor for the St. Louis Blues.
If there's one person who has been through a ton of emotions as a general manager in Montreal, it's him. He's taken a lot of heat from reporters and fans during his time here. He knows the score, as they say.
He will act in the same way that Serge Savard once did when he hired Marc Bergevin.
