Joel Edmundson was supposed to return to contact training last week, but instead he was pulled from the sessions again. He met with a doctor in the middle of last week to work out a new process.
This morning, Dominique Ducharme announced another bad news about the one who is considered the interim captain of the team: Joel Edmundson will be out for a few more weeks. Ouch! The sky just fell on the Montreal Canadiens' head once again.
We're talking about a big step backwards in the case of number 44, who is starting his rehab from scratch, according to Dominique Ducharme. There was no incident that caused him to backslide, but that's the day's observation after consultation.
The small positive through this: Edmundson won't have to go under the knife. Although, with all the twists and turns in this case, I wouldn't be surprised if an operation is announced in the next few days!
This chapter is very sad for Edmundson as he is eager to get back into action. Not to mention the fact that the defensive squad and the group of players need his services so badly. Jeff Petry is also dreaming of the return of the man who allows him to be better.
It's very disappointing!
