Although he didn't get a point, young Cole Caufield had a strong performance against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, taking eight shots on goal in just over 16 minutes of playing time.
However, the badmouth will remember that he finished the game with a -1 differential, despite his team's victory. Bob Hartley, in his last appearance on 91.9 Sports, spoke about this issue.
The Omsk Avangard head coach defended Caufield by saying that we have to accept Caufield as he is. He is a pure shooter and we will have to get used to seeing some deficiencies at the defensive level.
With only one goal in 23 games this season, Caufield will have to start producing on a regular basis if he wants his defensive lapses to become acceptable.
Nevertheless, patience is the key in his case, and I'm still not convinced that the best decision is to keep Caufield in Montreal, rather than having him play in Laval. In short, let's be patient.
