There are still a few interesting names, who are still without contract, such as Jason Robertson, Kirby Dach, Rasmus Sandin, Alex Formenton and Barrett Hayton.
Hartley was mainly interested in the case of Kirby Dach, the Montreal Canadiens' new young center, and according to him, the CH must sign him as soon as possible.
Warning from Bob Hartley
Hartley's message is clear. According to him, "Kirby Dach absolutely must be signed before the season starts". Bob is convinced that the young Dach would feel much better with a contract in his pocket and before training camp begins.
Kent Hughes needs to get this done quickly.
It would not be ideal for the Habs to wait any longer, and worse, it would be unfortunate for both parties involved (the team and the young center) if Kirby Dach has to start the season late because of this.
The famous first day of training camp is fast approaching, so time is running out, and if Dach wants to have a solid first season with his new team, he must be able to start his preparation at the same time as his teammates.
According to a recent report by Eric Engels (Sportsnet), a contract basis has been advanced and an announcement seemed imminent.
But since then, radio silence!
So this is a file to follow closely, but Bob Hartley is right. It would really be best for Dach to be able to arrive at camp with his contract in hand so he can focus 100% on the upcoming season and what's happening on the ice.
