Hartley explained that he was going to take some time to rest and spend time with his family and friends. But as Olivier Paiement of Danslescoulisses.com reports, that doesn't mean he's retiring from the hockey world. Not at all.
See the details:
The man who regularly collaborates with 91.9 Sports and RDS says he still wants to work in the media world, but he did not want to get involved in his future as a coach.
He added that he also has projects waiting for him in his hometown of Hawkesbury. But you know, a coach is still a coach and we shouldn't be surprised if Hartley manages to find a job as an assistant in the NHL.
He has a very good track record in professional hockey and won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001 and the Gagarin Cup with the Avangard Omsk in 2021.
What if Kent Hughes could convince him to become Martin St-Louis' assistant? Although Hartley was not considered for the Canadiens' head coaching position, his experience could prove to be an asset to the organization.
Either way, this is good news for Quebec hockey fans! Hartley has not closed the door on his coaching career and has shown a willingness to be more present on television and radio.
It will be interesting to see what happens next for the excellent Bob, either as a coach or as an analyst, but in any case, we really want to see him on our screens as often as possible.
With the CH, as an assistant, it would obviously be a dream (according to many).
And interestingly enough, he started his coaching career in his hometown for the Hawkesbury Hawks in Junior A and Martin St-Louis played one season for the same team in 1992-1993. That's how we say it...
