On this Saturday, December 25, 2021, Don Sweeney, general manager of the Boston Bruins, had a little thought for his supporters, who he wanted to wish a Merry Christmas via his Twitter account.
He also tried to add some humour to his message, begging supporters to forget what is undoubtedly one of his greatest career failures, the 2015 draft.
Merry Christmas to all the Bruins fans! Don't forget to enjoy the little things in life that you can't buy. Love, health, happiness, company and family. And for Santa's sake... forget the 2015 draft!», he wrote.
Will this be enough to make the Bruins fans forget this bad memory? Unfortunately for him, I do not think that is the case.
The Bruins had inherited the 13th, 14th and 15th draft picks from 2015, and had chosen Jakub Zboril, Jake DeBrusk and Zach Senyshyn, while players such as Mathew Barzal, Kyle Connor, Thomas Chabot, Brock Boeser, Travis Konecny and Sebastian Aho, to name a few, were all still available.
We therefore appreciate the intention, but it would be surprising if the Bostonian supporters put an end to this lamentable failure. Best luck next time, Mr Sweeney!
