So here's a list of five CH players at high risk of ending up under other skies between now and the trade deadline.
The name most often mentioned in trade rumors. Currently in the final year of a three-year contract, Chiarot is having a team-like season, despite scoring four goals in 24 games. He is still a quality veteran who could potentially bring a first round pick back to the Tricolore in the event of a trade.
Although he makes very little noise, Kulak is an underrated piece of the puzzle that could provide proud services to many teams in the NHL. His $1.85 million salary is also a bargain for a team looking to add depth to its defensive brigade for the playoffs.
Cedric Paquette
Having signed a one-year contract with the CH last July, Paquette has yet to really make his mark in Dominique Ducharme's lineup. Still with no points on his record in eleven games played, Paquette could be traded to allow a youngster or a new addition to the big club and his 95-game playoff total could certainly interest some general managers.
Chris Wideman
Not considered a sure thing in his own zone, Wideman is still one of the few that can move the puck well in the CH's defensive brigade and that's why he regularly plays on his team's power play. Author of eight points (two goals) in 17 games this season, this one could be approached by a team looking for mobility at the blue line.
Mathieu Perreault
Also acquired last summer, Perreault has only played eight games in a Canadiens uniform so far due to an eye injury, during which he scored three goals. However, Perreault is an experienced veteran who can play a number of different positions in an offense and this versatility could make him attractive to some teams.
