As you know, unfortunately, last night defenseman Joel Edmundson was injured and had to leave the game against the Detroit Red Wings.

However, there was some good news.

Since the CH officially announced (yesterday) that it was a lower body injury, we were really relieved to learn that it wasn't his back.

Turnaround.

Well, lo and behold, the Montreal Canadiens just announced this:

"Defenseman Joel Edmundson is being evaluated day-to-day with an upper-body injury." - Montreal Canadiens

"With an upper-body injury, Joel Edmundson is not participating in practice and is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis, but that doesn't mean anything anymore." - Luc Gélinas, RDS

So it suddenly became an upper-body injury. Ouch, that's more concerning, especially with Edmundson out today.

With the trade deadline approaching and some hoping to receive a 2023 first round pick for Joel Edmundson, this is definitely not good news.

"Canadiens Thursday night during the game: Joel Edmundson has a lower body injury.

Canadiens Friday morning: Joel Edmundson has an upper-body injury."

- Simon-Olivier Lorange

More details will follow.
