With only one goal scored after two periods of play last night against the Penguins, few fans could believe that the third period would bring eight more goals. So the last period paid off for some poolers!
Certainly, three of those eight goals were scored in an empty net. This certainly helped the cause for the Tricolore. In fact, this is the first time in its history that the CH has scored three times in an empty net in the same game.
Ironically, the last team to accomplish this feat was the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 12.
Following the win, the Habs return to Montreal for a short stay at home where they will face the Canucks and the Avalanche. The Tricolore will then head back to Nashville to face the Predators.
Will Dominique Ducharme's team finally manage to get a second straight win? The CH has not been able to do so again this season.
