For the second day in a row and third time in a week, Carey Price put on his full gear at practice. This is a giant step in his journey towards a possible return to the game.
The man who is expected to make his return after the holiday season does not only have the Habs in his sights. Considering his team's struggles, the Beijing games must be a much better goal for Price.
With two months to go before the Olympics, head coach Dominique Ducharme admits that going for a second career gold medal must be an added motivation for Price.
"His primary motivation is to play hockey. But it's certain that having a chance to go to the Olympics is an additional motivation," he admitted.
Moreover, without being guaranteed the number one position, Price is, without a shadow of a doubt, part of the list of candidates for Team Canada's roster, which is headed this year by Doug Armstrong.
In the coming weeks, Armstrong will have to narrow down his list of 55 candidates to a number that is close to the roster that will start the tournament against Germany on February 9.
