And it's safe to say, goaltender Cayden Primeau is a huge contributor to the Rocket's success and as reported by Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan.com, he's on pace to eclipse a team mark owned by none other than Carey Price.
Since the start of the playoffs, Primeau has won six of his seven starts and has maintained a 1.93 goals-against average. But perhaps Primeau's most impressive stat is his .936 GAA.
When the Hamilton Bulldogs won the Calder Cup in 2007 with Carey Price in net, Price had a .935 GAA, just one point lower than Primeau's current average.
However, in his team's win in Game 3 against Rochester, he allowed 5 goals, which brought his average down a bit from .949 before that game. Still very impressive for a goalie who hadn't even started the playoffs for the Rocket.
The Rocket is currently waiting for the winner of the series between the Charlotte Checkers and the Springfield Thunderbirds to know their next opponent in the conference final. Charlotte currently leads the series 2-0 and the Eastern Conference Final will be a 4 of 7 series.
In 2007, Carey Price guided the Hamilton Bulldogs to the Calder Cup with a .935% efficiency...
... Cayden Primeau is currently at .949% with the Rocket! 🔥
