Recently present for a generous interview on 91.9 Sports, Montreal Canadiens VP Communications Chantal Machabée agreed to give an update on Quebec forward Jonathan Drouin.
The least we can say is that her answer is very clear and very direct:
"Jo is in Montreal. Jo, we must not forget that he has a newborn, so he has a little boy who was born this winter. Last I heard, when I talked to Jo, there was a lot going on with a baby that wasn't sleeping through the night. Jo is a full time dad these days. That's why I try to leave my players alone in the summer as much as possible. Still, he's a young dad, I try to give him time."
We are quite happy to hear from him, and note that this is the last time of the summer that we will have any. Then, Chantal will not have to give us any more, because she will "leave him alone".
Congratulations again to the new parents and to Jo.
Drouin, 27, had 20 points in 34 games this season with the Canadiens and had surgery on his right wrist in New York in April. Jo should be able to participate in the next training camp and will finally be at 100%. That's promising!
