This morning, Claude Julien officially got a job to coach a hockey team. As my colleague Keven Mawn reported on Thursday morning, Julien was the favorite to win the coaching job for the Canadian team that will compete in the Channel One Cup and the Spengler Cup.
Julien will be assisted by Bruce Boudreau and Scott Walker, a former NHL coach and a former NHL player who played more than 800 games in the league. Walker also has extensive coaching experience, including years with the Guelph Storm.
Of course, the big boss, Team Canada's general manager, remains Shane Doan. Doan, a natural leader and the greatest player in the history of the Arizona Coyotes, knew how to surround himself with the right people to take a path to championships.
In short, congratulations Claude!
