The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that goaltender Ilya Samsonov injured his knee and left the game.
This duo of Murray and Samsonov was supposed to revitalize the team between the pipes - but just 10 games into the 2022-23 campaign, they are both injured.
Murray was put on LTIR a few weeks ago, and Samsonov was injured during tonight's Leafs game against the Boston Bruins.
Now, the Leafs third goaltender, Erik Kallgren will be thrown in the starters net. Not an ideal situation for the playoff hopeful group, as Kallgren has been tough to watch this season.
Hopefully one of their main duo will recover soon, as if they don't, the Leafs may be forced to make a desperation move.
More details to come...
