With the cancellation of the Olympics for the NHL players, some players have given pride to the National League since they would have liked to be there. This is the case of Brad Marchand, who is really frustrated at not participating in the 2022 Olympics, which would have been his last ones.
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid joined Marchand on the Olympics. The 97 wants the best to face the best and he sent a message to Gary Bettman about it. «Organize a tournament, a World Cup, Gary!»
"The whole thing is so disappointing... I think we need to find a way to have a best-on-best tournament at some point here.»
McDavid was not as vocal as Marchand, as he stressed at the NHL and Bettman to organize a World Cup, where all the best from each of the nations could compete.
